Mikel Arteta Appointed Manager of Arsenal
Former Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta has been appointed as the club's new manager, following the departure of Unai Emery.
Arteta, who spent five years as a player at Arsenal, has been working as an assistant coach at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola. He has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Gunners.
The Spaniard becomes the first person to manage Arsenal since Arsène Wenger left the club in 2018. Wenger won three Premier League titles, seven FA Cups, and seven Community Shields during his 22 years in charge of the Gunners.
